A postcard's journey

Hi
Does anyone else take an interest in where a postcard has been?
I've got a small collection of cards that have been forwarded because the person had moved.
I know someone else who collects letters and cards sent to ships that have been returned for various reasons. He nearly had the ultimate prize, returned, ship sunk in action. Unfortunately it wasn't returned even though the ship he sent it to was sunk a week after he sent it.
