My first Sierra
1991 Sierra Sapphire "Classic"
Started life as a standard 1.6 OHC "Pinto"
I did a few mods to the car just a week after getting it.
Front electric windows
Weber 32/36 DGAV and 2.0 "Pinto" inlet manifold
Rev counter type dash
Blaupunkt 10 Disk CD player
That wasn't enougth the car was in for a treat 6 months later.
I rebuilt a 1977 2.0 "Pinto" from a Granny.
Re-bored to 2.1, Fast road cam, DIY head porting+ new camshaft bearing, A nice head skim done by myself to raise the CR to approx 11.5:1, crank re-grind+ new bearings, new oil pump etc basically a new engine.
Then after a search for the "Holy Grail" I finally located a good 38 DGAS, it just needed a rebuild and new spindles/gears. It was topped of with a chrome filter with a K&N element in it. Shortly followed by a 4 branch exhaust manifold and rally system (from Peter Lloyd Rallying) it sounded like a WW2 Spitfire.
After that it was just a set of new HD TCA bushes (not poly) and new standard gas shocks all round and a cheap set of Pepper pots from and old 2.0i Ghia.
Had the car a few years then sold it to finace a Mondeo (BIG MISTAKE) a farmer bought it, theres probably chickens living in it now.
