Or another theory, I had a 7.5" diff as standard on my car. I used a 7" diff for a while (nearly a year) and I used the same driveshafts (the original 7.5" ones) with no problem whatsoever.

Maybe it's possible to use 7.5" driveshfts with a 7" diff but not the other way round?
