DIRECTX 10
To play the game in DirectX 10 mode, Microsoft Vista operating system and a DirectX 10 compatible graphics card must be installed.
To run the game in DirectX 10 mode right-click on the game's icon in Games Explorer and select "Play Call of Juarez - DirectX 10"

So yea, I guess it is compatible with DirectX 9, but obviously it won't be as good looking as DirectX 10 ...
