The G25 is dead, long live the G25!

Postby Dan » Wed 29 Aug 2007 13:42

The other night my Logitech G25 died ... :(

The wheel seems to offset itself after a few turns, and the force feedback is playing up as well.
When I start a game, it's fine to begin with, but after a few corners it starts to get worse and worse ...

Here is a perfect example of the problem :

As you can see in the second photo, the steering axis is centered, but the wheel itself is not.
If I unplug the wheel and replug it again, it corrects itself. But after a few turns the problem comes back.
I tried reinstalling the drivers and I even tried the wheel on a different computer, and it's the same ...

Here is a video to show what I mean :

- g25_problem_01.wmv ( 1m19s, 10.8 Mb, WMV )

To download the video, right click on the link and choose save target as from the menu.

So do see what I'm talking about? What a stupid gay problem!
At least the wheel is still under guarantee as I bought it in April this year.
However, as I didn't want to wait for the guarantee return, I went and bought a new one, lol.

Here it is, waiting to be opened :

Pauvre petit G25, ton Über-Micro est trop puissant pour lui, ça l'a tué :D

Mais heureusement RueDuCommerce est là pour sauver ce pauvre petit Dan en perdition sans son volant.

Il va faloir tester le nouveau dès ce soir ^^

I want to get one too. I'd like to test one as well, but you being on the other side of the world.. or well, a few thousand km's away, could make it a bit hard.
You should make us a video for all the users here on sillyproject, how nice the g25 is. :)
