Looking for Presenters/DJ's ...

Postby Dan » Sun 11 Nov 2007 03:49

As everybody knows, it's a fact, radios that play great music are, well, great ...
However, radios playing great music and who have great Presenters/DJ's, are better ...

I'm happy choosing music for my radio and organising it, but I'm buggered if I'm presenting on it, lol ...
This is basically why I'm looking for some wannabe Presenters/DJ's to have a go at doing it ...

During day time and night time, the radio is simply on random, playing all kinds of music.
What I want to do, is have somebody presenting and choosing the music to be played in the evenings ...
The reason for doing it then is because that's when the SPTR meetings are, and when most people are online.
There is a very simple way to do this, one that makes my life simple, so here is the idea ...

- You have a spot on the radio, for an hour, or a few hours, or something ...
- The spot is prepared before the time it's played, be it by a few hours or a day before ...
- You choose the music to be played from what's available on the radio (I'll give you a list or something)
- You record yourself presenting with a microphone, split into different MP3's (or fancier if you can be bothered)
- You make a playlist, so that everything is played in the right order (you, song, song, song, you, song ... etc)
- You upload the playlist and your presenting mp3's to the server ...
- At the right time, I start your spot by playing your playlist ...

In your spot, you can talk about what you want, even have news or call-ins or ads or whatever ...
As long as you stick to the music available to you from the radio, there isn't a problem ...
Obviously you should try and make it interesting, funny, and of course, silly, lol!

Here is a example, this is what Stevo came up with a while back when I was first testing the radio ... :)

So if you think you'd like to have a go at it, reply here! Lets hear your ideas ... ;)

Hey Dan,
I got some (internet)radio experience myself.
Justin and I had a Shoutcast server, it was called J-FM.
But we did everything 'live', which I think is a lot funnier, better, whatever.
If you still need somebody for the radio, I'm available :)
Well, as long as I don't get specific times and can choose some of my own music...
